Carlow clubs gear up for start of senior football championship

The battle for the Conlon Cup starts this weekend in Carlow as the senior football championship gets underway.
Last years beaten finalists Old Leighlin start proceedings when they face the reigning Intermediate Champions Ballinabranna at Netwatch Cullen park on Saturday at 6.
Champions Rathvilly start the defence of their title against Kildavin Clonegal after that at 7.30.
On Sunday Mount Leinster Rangers take on Tinryland in the first game at the county grounds at 6
That will be followed by the meeting of Eire Og and Palatine who clash at 7.30.
