Carlow Co. council has warned home-owners along the Barrow Slaney and Burren rivers to be vigilant after a night of heavy rain in the county.
Flood barriers have been put in place in Tullow while the council is also monitoring the water levels in Carlow Town, Leighlinbridge and Tinnahinch.
The local authority is urging home-owners to take all necessary measures to protect their properties and they have set up a 24 hour telephone service at 059 91 70300.
