Carlow Councillor Fintan Phelan announces his intention to seek Fianna Fail nomination

Another Fianna Fail Councillor has announced he wants the party nomination for the upcoming by-election.

Carlows Fintan Phelan is the latest to throw his hat in the ring for the race to fill the seat Phil Hogan left vacant when he went to Europe.

His council colleague Jennifer Murnane O’ Connor has already revealed her intentions while in Kilkenny Patrick McKee has declared his interest and there’s speculation that Mayor Andrew McGuinness is also interested.

As a new young candidate Fintan Phelan told KCLR news he thinks that gives him an edge.
