Carlow Councillor says fines for fly-tipping should be hugely increased

A local councillor is calling for the fine imposed for illegal dumping to be raised to €1,000.
Labour’s Willie Quinn says fly-tipping is a huge blight on the landscape of Carlow and something urgently needs to be done – especially when Carlow is attracting so many tourists.
The problem is expected to worsen if a pay-by-weight system for bins comes into place across the country.
Speaking to KCLR news, Councillor Quinn says illegal dumping just shouldn’t be happening.
