Local Councillors will discuss the Tullow Town Plan at a workshop meeting early next week.
This is prior to a public discussion is scheduled to take place during the March (plenary) meeting of Carlow County Council.
In 2022, Tullow was chosen as a Pathfinder Town for County Carlow, with funding subsequently provided to develop a Town Centre First Plan.
Speaking to KCLR News, Fine Gael Councillor Ben Ward said he’s very pleased with the detail contained in the plan, to which a range of community stakeholders have positively contributed. “So I think we’ve had good input from the public and from councillors ourselves.”
“I think we’ve provided a nice balance between zoning way over the amount of housing land that we need, but also keeping enough space so we can allow for one of the priorities for me, which is to have a town park for pre-teens into the town.”
