A Garda was hospitalised after his car was rammed in Carlow on Saturday.
On Saturday afternoon, Carlow Gardaí received three separate reports of someone driving dangerously around the town.
A patrol car was sent out to chase the driver down.
The rogue-car went up the Staplestown Road the wrong way before eventually mounting a grassy verge and trying to go down St Patrick’s Avenue.
It was here that the Gardaí managed to pull their car across the road in an attempt to block him.
The driver rammed the Garda car but couldn’t get past.
He was arrested on the spot, then charged and brought to court yesterday morning.
The injured Garda was taken to hospital but his injuries weren’t serious.
