A local post office has now been hit by thieves three times in 2 months.
At about 9.50 this morning a lone man entered Leighlinbridge Post Office, threatened staff and made off with a sum of money.
The hunt is continuing for him in the Leighlinbridge, Bagenalstown and Carlow Town areas.
He’s described as being 6 foot tall, wearing a high viz jacket with a peaked cap.
He fled on foot but Gardaí say he may then have got into a silver ford mondeo with a 04 Dublin reg which was seen acting suspiciously in the area at the time.
The same post office was targeted by thieves twice already this year – on the 1st of March and then just under three weeks ago on the 11th of April.
Anyone who may have seen anything this morning is asked to contact Carlow Gardaí on 059 9136620.
