Carlow girl Shauntelle Tynan issues fresh funding appeal for cancer surgery

A Carlow girl suffering from a rare form of cancer has issued a fresh plea to people to donate money to her cause

17-year-old Shauntelle Tynan is in Texas as she awaits more surgery today in an attempt to prevent the cancer spreading to her bowel.

The surgery she requires is unavailable in Ireland and so Shauntelle has been forced to seek treatment in America at huge financial cost.

In a post on her facebook page, the teenager says it’s going to cost almost €20,000 and they are currently €5,000 short.
