A local TD says action’s needed now to help free a Kilkenny man detained by ICE in Texas for five months.

The Department of Foreign Affairs this morning told KCLR News that Minister McEntee is aware of the case and of the consular assistance being provided to the citizen involved and his family by the Consulate General in Austin, Texas, and the Consular Unit in Dublin. While the Embassy in Washington DC is also engaging directly with the Department of Homeland Security at a senior level in relation to this case.
Pressure’s been mounting on the Taoiseach to raise the issue with the US President when he meets Donald Trump at the White House on St Patrick’s Day.
