Community text alert groups across Carlow and Kilkenny are to be honoured by the Gardaí at an awards ceremony this evening.
The local Garda division is encouraging members of all 62 groups across the two counties to attend the event in the Hub at Cillín Hill tonight.
There are 40 groups in Kilkenny at the moment, and 22 in Carlow, with 15,000 members between them.
Speaking to KCLR, Garda Darren Leahy says it’s all about recognising the important work they’re doing in terms of crime prevention.
