Carlow’s hurlers made history in their last outing, securing their first-ever competitive victory over Waterford with a thrilling 2-21 to 1-19 win at Netwatch Cullen Park. The result was a landmark moment for the team and a testament to their progress under Mullaly’s management.
James Doyle and Chris Nolan were standout performers, earning spots in the Team of the Week for their key roles in the victory. Nolan was in electric form, racking up an impressive 2-3, while Doyle contributed two crucial points to help seal the well-deserved win.
This victory moves Carlow to three points from a possible four, following a hard-fought draw with Offaly. Their equalising free from Martin Kavanagh at the end of injury time held Offaly to a 0-19 to 1-16 draw at O’Connor Park.
