A Carlow man has been rescued after a fall on the Comeragh Mountains on Saturday afternoon.
The alarm was raised at approximately midday after he fell into a gully in the Mahon Falls area.
The South Eastern Mountain Rescue team were alerted by local Gardai and following an almost three-hour operation the man was removed from the scene shortly after 4.30pm.
The experienced climber was taken to hospital with lower leg and arm injuries and a spokesperson for the rescue team has described it as a very complex rescue due to the uneven terrain.
