Carlow parents hoping many will attend a meeting on future of respite services for children today

Parents of children who were in receipt of respite care in Carlow will meet with the Kilkenny/Carlow disability services today to discuss future services.

A number of local families say they were left with no respite care option after Tír Na nÓg closed its doors almost 6 months ago.

A statement from the HSE says that a “mapping exercise for children’s respite services for Carlow/Kilkenny has recently been completed” and that a plan was sent to all families for feedback.

Speaking to KCLR, Helen Fahy who’s son used the services in Carlow, says they hope people attend today’s meeting to show support.
