Carlow is performing well when it comes to tourism
New figures from Failte Ireland reveal the county has had a boost in visitor numbers in recent years.
According to Carlow Tourism, the county has forged ahead as an attractive holiday destination for overseas
and domestic visitors.
In 2012, it welcomed 69 thousand overseas visitors with Britain making up 41 thousand, Mainland Europe with 16 thousand followed by the US with 8 thousand while long haul markets including Australia and Japan accounted for 4 thousand visitors.
The tourists spent 37 million euro which goes into the local economy.
Carlow ranks 14th in the country for overseas visitors.
