Carlow records highest growth rate in value of new properties sold last year

There is a notable pick up in property sales in Carlow with the number of homes bought and sold on the increase.

Out of the 26 counties, Carlow experienced the highest growth rate in the value of new properties sold in 2013.

There was an increase of 35% in property sales in the county in 2013 compared to a modest 1% increase in the stagnant property market in Kilkenny.

Average house prices fell in all counties with the average house in Carlow at €100,000 compared to Kilkenny which reflects the national average at €115,000.
