Carlow Town Council has started the winding down process ahead of its abolition next month.
The members met last night and will hold their very last meeting in May when they will tie up any remaining loose ends.
Last night museum artefacts were transferred to the Town Council from the historical assocation society and in May they will in turn transfer the ownership to the county council.
