Carlow Volunteer Centre encouraging new ways of volunteering

As National Volunteer Week gets underway, Carlow Volunteer Centre is encouraging not for profit organisations to increase their understanding of new ways of volunteering.

Organisations in Carlow have been called on to identify specific skills which they require and to apply that to their volunteers.

It comes after a new survery of 400 volunteer involving organisations carried out by volunteer Ireland showed that 53 percent of organisations could not survive without them.

Charities, organisations and clubs in the locality are being encouraged to contact Carlow Volunteer Centre and find a national volunteering week event near them.
