A local school principal says its disappointing that Carlow has the worst record in the country for students dropping out of school.
Latest figures reveal that 14 percent of secondary school students in the county leave before sitting their Leaving cert exams and nearly 6 percent dont even do their Junior cert.
Principal at Tullow Community school Paul Thornton says the statistics speak for themselves but says it should be noted that there are other options that some students explore instead of the state exams.
