Carlow/Kilkenny Garda Division reveals plans to publicly recognise local Text Alert groups

The local Garda division has revealed plans to publicly thank local Text alert groups for their efforts in helping prevent crime.

62 groups are in operation across Kilkenny and Carlow with 15,000 members between them.

To mark the work they are doing representatives of each will be invited to a special awards night in Cillín Hill on October 5th.

Crime Prevention Officer Sergeant Peter McConnon says its important to recognise that the initiative is working.
