Carlow’s Éamonn Tracey wins 8th consecutive National Ploughing title

Éamonn Tracey has won an 8th consecutive National Ploughing title.
The Garryhill man beat off stiff competition, including his own father, in yesterday’s conventional final to be crowned supreme champion at the National championships in Screggan.
He’s already due to go to Kenya for this year’s World Championships and will now go to Germany as well next year as Ireland’s representative.
John Whelan from Wexford won the reversible ploughing competition will also represent his country at the World championships.
Meanwhile, organisers say the 86th national championships were the most successful to date with a record 291,500 visitors to the site in Screggan over the past three days.
