Carlow’s senator expresses outrage after she “wasn’t invited” to meeting with Housing Minister yesterday

Senator Jennifer Murnane O’Connor says she was not at a meeting in Carlow attended by the Housing Minister yesterday because she was not invited.
Eoghan Murphy was on a visit to Carlow to turn the sod on new homes in Graiguecullen and to declare more houses in the county officially open.
The Minister sat down with council officials and others to discuss Housing matters but Senator Murnane O’Connor, who is Fianna Fáil’s Seanad spokesperson for Housing was not asked to join them.
She told KCLR she was disappointed, but she told the Minister why she wasn’t there.
She says Minister Murphy told her she should have been there and that she should have called him to organise it, but she said she had already looked to attend and was told by the Council that she couldn’t.
Acting Chief executive of Carlow County council Dan McInerney has told KCLR it was not his place to invite the Senator.
