Three Louth goals in the first seventeen minutes was the undoing of Carlow in the Eirgrid Leinster under 21 football championship at Darvar yesterday evening
Carlow found themselves eleven points down 3-4 to 0-2 before they began to get in to the game
However two goals inside of a minute from Graham Power, and Niall Rennick who had just come on as a sub brought Carlow right back in to contention as the trailed by 3-6 to 2-5 at the break.
Five minutes in to the last period Carlow had reduced the lead to a single score with three quick points from Graham Power, Kelvin Chatten and Fiach O’Toole Louth 3-6 Carlow 2-8
Turning into the last quarter Louth were reduced to fourteen men but try as they might Carlow were never able to get in front
Final Score – Louth 3-11, Carlow 2-10
