Carlow and Kilkennys Under 21 hurlers served up a thriller at Netwatch Cullen Park last night with the cats coming out on top by 2 points on a scoreline of 2-14 to 2-12.
Kilkenny got off a to a good start with two goals in the first twelve minutes from Ciaran Ryan and Liam Hickey and went in at half time 2-9 to 8 points up.
However Carlow’s Peter Shaw netted early in the second-half and they battled all the way to the finish with Jack Kavanagh striking home their second goal in injury-time, but it wasn’t enough.
Speaking to KCLR after the game, Carlows Marty Kavanagh says they had huge belief in themselves going into the game……
Kilkenny manager Brian Ryan says they expected Carlow to push them all the way…..
Kilkenny will play Wexford in the Leinster Final after they beat Offaly 2-16 to 1-12.
