CAS Review to take place on September 1st but works will continue.

A review of the Central Access Scheme will take place on September 1st, but works will continue at the Greensbridge site.

The review will be supervised by the internal audit committee of Kilkenny County council.

A meeting to debate and vote on the motion to review the works on the bridge over the River Nore was to take place at 11 o’clock this morning, but legal advice to the council has advised that a review may not have any legal standing.

The meeting to discuss the possibility of a motion to review the CAS is underway since this morning.

Up to 300 people have gathered outside the county building.

All Doors have been locked to the county hall and Gardai have arrived at the scene.
