Castlecomer goes gold for Childhood Cancer awareness

Castlecomer is doing its bit to mark Childhood Cancer awareness month this evening.

Famous landmarks throughout the country have been lit up gold during the month of September to create awareness and tonight locals in Castlecomer will do the same at the local church.

It’s been organised by the family of a 4 year old local girl Searlait Tywang who is in Crumlin at the moment where she is getting ready to start her final round of treatment after being diagnosed with a brain tumour back in February.

Her aunt Michelle Power told KCLR news they want people to come along later at 8.30 to the local church with tealights and a jar with the name of a child who is fighting cancer or a child who has lost their battle and gained their wings.
