Castlecomer Male Voice Choir is looking forward to a special Celtic concert at St Mary’s Cathedral this evening alongside the Gwalia Welsh Singers.
The concert will raise funds for the Dillon Quirke Foundation and Cois Nore, with both choirs performing eight songs each.
Eugene Dillon, chair of the CMVC, says they’re hoping for a big crowd, and the choir is also encouraging new members to get involved.
“We we tend to have a a trip away every year. We’re going to Kinsale this year, know, on our yearly trip. And we’re talking about going maybe possibly going to Germany next year and and meeting up with a choir over there. See it stopped there for years because lads were getting older and they weren’t able to go. And most importantly to keep all the older generation in the choir because they love singing. Music is a very great tonic for anybody anyway”. said Eugene.
