It’s been confirmed that 6 bus routes will remain in the Castlecomer area after a deal was done with the National Transport Authority.
4 commercial services and 2 public obligation are in operation from the 29th of June after months of campaigning by a local group.
It follows a proposal to withdraw 11 of them from the area, however last week the working group met with the CEO of the NRA Ann Graham and worked out a deal.
Local councillor Maurice Shortall who campaigned with locals says he hopes people will use the services now.
A public meeting takes place on Tuesday the 9th of June in Castlecomer hall to discuss the update.
