Happy World Radio Day! Today, Thursday, February 13th, marks World Radio Day, a global celebration of the medium that has been keeping us informed, entertained, and connected for over a century.
World Radio Day recognises that from breakfast shows that get us moving in the morning to late-night chats that keep us company, radio is the soundtrack to our lives. It’s where we hear our favourite songs first, laugh with our favourite presenters, and stay connected with what are the important stories of the day. Radio has a unique way of bringing people together.
And last week’s JNLR results revealed that Ireland’s love affair with radio is incredibly strong with the highest ever recorded audience for radio – 3.9 million people tune into radio every single week! More people are listening to radio than ever before.
