Legendary songwriter Doctor Millar’s recently announced his final masterpiece: a five-disc epic, 42 songs, almost a decade in the making, recorded in Ireland, London and New York. Each disc is sonically and thematically distinct, tracing different aspects of Seán’s imagination and storytelling — from post-punk iconoclast to folky troubadour to critically lauded music theatre composer.
He;s also one of my favourite Irish artists and it had been way too long since we had met and chatted about what was going on. Seán dropped in and what was going to be a bit of a chat and maybe a few songs thrown in turned into a lovely afternoon of chat, insight and reminiscence with one of the greats. And some fine songs in Studio 2.
