Tonight, both guests are from Cork, coincidentally, and both have releases out or about to be released.
How I Became A Wave, AKA Pat Carey, formerly vocalist and songwriter with Cork based band The Hard Ground, who have been regularly featured on my programmes over the years. Since stepping away from The Hard Ground, Pat has been heavily involved in various elements of the Irish Music scene, including with Right Here Right Now Festival and Cork Opera House. He’s also been Marketing & Development Manager with Kilkenny Arts Festival in the past few years.
He has released three beautiful tracks this year under the HIBAW banner, in preparation for a full album launch in 2026.

I also spoke with Cormac O’Caoimh, who’s produced some gorgeous music over the past while and has regularly featured on both Ceol Anocht and Folk/Roots. He’s back, gigging with a vengeance again and has released a digital album called “In A Shed Of Broken Bits & Bobs”
