Change on the way for Carlow-Kilkenny dog shelter

Big changes are on the way for the local dog pound.

Kilkenny county council is the first authority in the country to bring forward a new charter and memorandum of understanding that the new service provider at the Paulstown facility will have to sign up to.

Mayor Andrew McGuinness says the welfare of the animals has to be the number one priority and they want to be able to re-home as many as possible.
