Ingredients:
- 1 ½ lb/700g lean mince
- 2 garlic cloves crushed
- 1 medium onion diced
- 2oz/50g breadcrumbs
- 1oz/25g grated parmesan
- 1dsp chilli jam
- 1 large egg
- 1 tbsp finely chopped parsley
- seasoning
Topping:
1 Spanish thinly sliced
1tbsp redcurrant jelly
Burger buns
Method:
Put the minced beef into a large bowl and add the onion and garlic
Mix the breadcrumbs, cheese and chopped parsley with the chilli jam.
Season the mixture with salt and black pepper
Add the egg and bring the mixture together with your hands.
Divide into 9 pieces using a little flour to bind and flatten
Place a pan on the cooker and add some oil . when good and hot add the burgers and sear on one side turn over and sear the other. Now turn down the heat and cook on both sides until cooked through.
Take the burgers off the pan and set aside. Now add the onions to the pan and cook slowly until they are slightly crisp. Now add the redcurrant Jelly and cook for a further minute.
To Assemble:
Toast the burger buns and place a burger in each bun. Top with some onions and then add tomato sauce and a little lettuce.
