Childcare professionals in centres across Carlow and Kilkenny are preparing to walk off the job in an organised protest this Friday.
Members of the Childhood Professionals Association are staging the demonstration in protest at what they say is the lack of government investment in the sector.
Millions was allocated in Budget 2018 but they say that is only going towards the accommodation of more children rather than ensuring there is staff to look after them.
Mick Kenny from Urlingford Childcare told KCLR News staff are earning less than the living wage.
He says they don’t want to make life difficult for parents on the day so this is being done with their support.
