Citizens’ Assembly simply can’t represent views of Irish public says People Before Profit

The only way to deal with the issue of Ireland’s abortion laws is through a referendum.

That’s according to a local member of People Before Profit who say the Citizens’ Assembly will never be able to represent the views of the entire country – especially on an issue like abortion.

Adrienne Wallace says it’s unrealistic to expect that a group of just 99 randomly selected people is representative of Ireland’s 4 million citizens.

Speaking to KCLR News, Adrienne says her party are bringing a bill before the Dáil later this month calling for an all-out referendum.
