Coillte comes under fire for tree felling in Jenkinstown

Coillte has come under fire this morning over clearance work at Jenkinstown wood.

The area is a popular spot especially in the run up to Summer as the bluebells start to bloom.

But locals fear that sight could now be a thing of the past as timber starts to pile up in the area.

Some have described the work as devastating.

But Mick Power of Coillte told Sue Nunn this morning they had to do what they did.
