The current cold snap has seen the cancellation of a local event.
The first of two low temperature warnings for both Carlow and Kilkenny takes effect at 6pm this (Saturday) evening, ending at 11am tomorrow (Sunday) only to be replaced by a second notice from 6pm running to 11am Monday.
With this in mind, the crew at Mountain View in Ballyhale has issued the following regarding their planned Sunday market;
Organisers say; “This has been a very hard decision as we were so looking forward to finishing up the season with so many of you . However, the safety of our staff, traders and all our visitors travelling to Mountain View is of utmost importance to us. Given our remote location and the rural roads that must be taken to get here, it is a decision we have to accept”.
