Carlow and Kilkenny may not fall under today’s status yellow snow and ice weather warning but we are feeling the chill.
Met Éireann’s notice for 11 counties, including neighbouring Waterford, Wicklow and Tipperary, is due to end at 9am but those taking to the roads remain reminded that driving conditions might be difficult in some areas with accumulations possible on high ground.
They say too that some isolated thunderstorms are possible too and we can expect low enough temperatures.
Carlow Weather’s Alan O’Reilly said the remainder of the day will be particularly cold, saying; “A bitterly cold day today with a really biting wind chill, that will be alongside some wintry showers early this morning of sleet and snow but they will turn to rain as we go through the morning and into the afternoon”.
If snow fell in your pocket of Carlow or Kilkenny please text/whatsapp a photo to 083 306 96 96.
