Collapsing roads cause untold damage in Bishop Birch Place, Kilkenny

Collapsing roads have caused huge structural damage to houses in one Kilkenny housing estate.
Residents of Bishop Birch Place have for years been complaining about the sinking roads which have caused collapsed walls, cracks along with extensive flooding.
The plight of residents there was again brought before the Council at yesterday’s monthly meeting by Andrew McGuinness and the council have now agreed to investigate it.
Councillor McGuinness told KCLR News this morning that the problem may run deeper than first feared as he says he understands the estate was built on the site of an old sandpit.
The council has been monitoring houses there over the years but it’s understood nothing of any consequence was ever done to fix the problems once and for all.
