A Durrow auction house have been forced to withdraw a collection of letters sent by John F Kennedys wife Jackie to an Irish priest in the 1950’s & 60’s from a sale next month.
The letters had been expected to fetch millions in the auction on June 10th at Sheppards but they have now been pulled from the sale at the vendors request.
Sheppards say they will now return the letters to All Hallows but what will happen to them next remains to be seen.
Sean Reidy Chief executive of JFK trust in New Ross says it came as a surprise to him that the Kennedy family weren’t contacted before the letters were first offered for sale.
