Commissioner Phil Hogan says new job is a huge honour
Its official – Phil Hogan is the new EU Commissioner for Agriculture.
Although it will still have to be ratified by MEP’s in the next few weeks the Carlow Kilkenny deputy has been formally nominated by the President Jean Claude Juncker today.
It’s one of the most senior positions in the EU Commission with a budget for Agriculture worth over 60 billion between now and 2020.
