Consultant for Piltown Bypass to be appointed before the year is over

A consultant will have been appointed to oversee a major overhaul of the Piltown Bypass before the end of the year.
That’s according to the Minister for Transport, Shane Ross, who was responding to questions on the progress being made there put to him in the Dáil by local TD Bobby Aylward.
The Minsiter says he’s been told by Transport Infrastructure Ireland that the interim safety works are almost complete.
At least 10 lives have been lost in collisions at that particular junction in recent years.
Minister Ross says things are progressing and then tender process is now over.
A recommendation for consultant will be made shortly and approved before Christmas.
