Cost of redevelopment at Kilkenny hospital overran by 7 million euro

It seems the cost overrun at the new National Childrens Hospital is just the latest overspend when it comes to major capital projects

In fact the biggest since 2010 was the redevelopment at St Lukes Hospital in Kilkenny.

The project was meant to cost 13.1million but actually ended up costing 20.1 million euro when extra items were added after the contract was signed.

This new information about capital projects that cost in excess of €10 million has been released to Fianna Fáil’s Finance Spokesperson Michael McGrath.
