Council houses in Kilkenny and Carlow receive €640,000 funding for upgrades
Over 640 thousand euro has been granted between Carlow and Kilkenny Councils to upgrade council houses.
The money will go towards updating homes and adapting them for people with disabilities.
Carlow is to get 190 thousand euro and Kilkenny 229 thousand to spend on housing adaptations for people with disabilities.
The money will also go towards building extensions where there is overcrowding issues in some homes.
Other funding of 100 thousand euro for Carlow and 121 thousand for Kilkenny will be used to make homes warmer for the winter by making them more energy efficient and better insulated.
