Council staff deployed to help Kilkenny communities clean up after flooding

Council staff and vehicles have been deployed today to some of the areas of Kilkenny hit hardest by the recent flooding.

Communities in Inistioge, Thomastown, Freshford and Graiguenamanagh are being offered assistance as the big clean-up continues.

Others in rural areas whose properties have been affected by the floodwaters are being urged to get in touch with the council for help too if needed.

Levels have dropped on the River Nore in recent days but Carlow County council remains on high alert with the Burren and Barrow levels still pretty high.

Director of Services Dan McInerney says they are monitoring the situation very closely still..
