Councillor Pat O’Neill elected Mayor of Kilkenny City

Councillor Pat O’Neill is waking up as the new mayor of Kilkenny City this morning.

It’s understood the Fine Gael councillor is the first from outside the City to be elected Mayor.

The Bennettsbridge man was presented with the chains at a meeting last night where he was elected unanimously.

He takes over from Fianna Fáil’s Joe Malone who held the position for the past 12 months.
