The new chairman of the Carlow county council believes finance and the organisation of the Municipal districts are the biggest challenges facing local government in the county.
Fine Gaels Fergal Browne was confirmed on Friday as the new Cathoirleach following last month’s local elections.
A power sharing agreement was reached between Fine Gael, Labour and two independents to control the chamber over the next 5 years.
