Court appearances to follow after 30 arrests in Thomastown area
A number of people are due before the courts locally in the coming days after being arrested in the Thomastown area yesterday.
Operation Storm came to a close yesterday evening with 30 arrests made – including one juvenile.
At least 10 people have been charged to court.
Nine searches were carried out and two cars were seized.
Meanwhile, leaflets were also handed out to parents at local schools following recent cyber-bullying reports.
There’s been a lot of talk about the so-called ‘Momo Challenge’ which sees threats sent to children encouraging them to harm themselves.
Speaking to KCLR News, Sergeant Catherine O’Gorman says they met some parents as part of yesterday’s operation.
GardaĆ arranged to be at local schools at drop-off/pick-up times so that they would be available to meet with parents specifically.
Sergeant O’Gorman says ‘any little bit of help we can provide to parents, hopefully is of benefit to them’
