The Courts Service have given assurances that the railings at Carlow Courthouse will be repaired by them.
They met with the OPW along with the Chief Executive of Carlow County Council and Councillor Fergal Browne about the issue on Friday.
The deteriorating state of the railings – which are almost 200 years old – has been raised time and again by Councillor Browne.
He’s told KCLR News, he was happy with Friday’s meeting and the works should start soon taking about 16 weeks to complete.
