A crucial meeting is underway this morning with future plans for a University for the South East hanging in the balance.
KCLR news understands Dept of Education officials, the Minister Jan O Sullivan and the governing body of WIT are sitting down at Government buildings this morning.
It comes after the Waterford Institute revealed yesterday that it was suspending all activity relating to its merger with IT Carlow.
Officials in Carlow were left stunned by the move but said they will do what they can to get it back on track.
