Carlow County Council are refusing to comment on whether or not they’re paying up for six new houses.
Local builders Miltown New Homes are building a housing development for the local authority at Carrigbrook in the Tullow Road.
But the company says they’ve have been told the’re not being paid for the latest batch of six homes that are ready for local families to move into.
Managing Director Damien Murphy told KCLR that they could have to shut down the site with 42 job losses if they’re not paid.
Local Councillor Fergal Brown says his understanding is that payment would be forthcoming but Carlow County Council has provided KCLR with a statement to say they will not be commenting on the matter.
